A private residence located in the historic Streetcar District in Savannah, GA whose owners wanted to repair a damaged carriage house structure and expand their usable space with a second level above the carriage house. The existing carriage house suffered from termite damage at the foundations and a battle with construction methods and local ordinances. The once dilapidated carriage house will become an extension of the main house with a dining room with doors overlooking the garden courtyard and a private office space above. Expected to be completed in 2025.

Achievements:

This project was highly contested with the local HDBR regarding construction methods and local building code regarding stucco. Through extensive efforts, Heather was successful in modifying the local building code to better align with the Secretary of Interior's Standards, specifically regarding the preservation and repair of historic stucco.
